Pros

I worked with some genuinely smart and kind people who did their best despite everything going on. The product has promise, but that promise is wasted under the current leadership.

Cons

I was let go not because of performance, but shortly after a new leader took over our org. No clear direction, no roadmap, no leadership presence — just vague goals and shifting priorities. The culture is relentlessly negative. Every meeting focuses on what’s broken. Wins are ignored. It drains you. It’s not just me — many of my former teammates are actively job hunting. The executive team is either disengaged or operating in silos. Strategy changes every few months, but execution never follows. Feedback culture is top-down and critical. There's no sense of collaboration or support. You’ll spend more time defending your work than actually doing it. The energy here is heavy. People are burnt out, frustrated, and just waiting for something to change — but nothing ever does.

Thank you for sharing your review. We're grateful for the contributions you made during your time at Camunda and for highlighting the talented, driven people on our teams, something we continue to be proud of. Camunda is in a phase of ambitious transformation, and with that comes a fast pace, evolving strategies, and a high-performance culture that not everyone will thrive in. That is okay. Clarity about where we are and what we expect helps both current and future Camundi make informed decisions about whether this is the right place for them. That said, feedback like yours also helps us stay grounded. We’re continuously working to improve leadership alignment, better connect the dots between strategy and execution, and foster a culture that recognizes wins and drives progress - without losing sight of our people along the way. Your insights provide valuable reflection points as we continue to balance operational excellence with genuine compassion and integrity. We understand that some of the points you've raised may not be resolved overnight, but fully understand that our long-term success depends on the wellbeing and engagement of our entire Camunda community. We wish you all the best in what’s next and thank you again for the time you spent with us.

Gross top-down lack of experience and judgement

Pros

Most Camundi are good to very good, trying their best and working hard against the odd. Mature remote working practice inc async collaboration (within teams, maybe less across departments?). Compensation is good, on par with market (US at least) though equity is way below market (even for European HQ scaleup (at this rate might not worth much anyway, so not something to join or stay for).

Cons

Competent Camundi (even C-level) have been let go in H1 with muddy reasons. Ohers have left of their own choice (from what I'm hearing many are wondering if it's really worth staying). Churn is very high, it doesn't help. Top-down lack of experience and judgement shows everyday. F.ex. Camino promoted to SLT but removed from the org less than 6 month later. For a company aiming to be pragmatic and numbers driven, we're now driven by fear and politics with no credible exit. Oh... and People Team stop gaming the system by asking your brownies to post nice reviews, fix moral, trust, equity... instead.

Our goal to lead the PO&A category has been consistent, and we have been responsive to economic and technological shifts, ensuring that we build a product that delivers meaningful impact with the highest benefits for both current and future customers. We recognize that our equity program is unique and not always well understood. We will continue investing in education so employees can better understand the full scope of their total rewards. We respect people’s privacy when they leave Camunda and don’t comment on individual departures. We welcome all kinds of feedback, positive, constructive, or critical and we do not ask anyone to post anything that isn’t authentic. We’re committed to building a Camunda where people are empowered to speak up and feel heard.

Amazing people, very little direction

Pros

Truly kind, smart, and caring colleagues. Good benefits and chances to travel.

Cons

The current environment feels extremely disjointed, particularly with GTM direction changing frequently without a clear execution plan. While initiatives like "speed boat" were meant to drive agility, the lack of training and support has led to fear and a culture of blame rather than empowerment. This has been exacerbated by senior leadership openly stating Camunda needs to "get better at firing people" or stating "those seeking work-life balance and job security look elsewhere." Comments like these have significantly damaged morale and trust. The result is a workplace where innovation and collaboration are stifled, as employees are forced to focus on self preservation. Documenting every action to shield themselves from blame when issues arise (which never seems to land on leadership). It’s disheartening, especially for those who once saw Camunda as a forward thinking, innovative company. The recent layoffs (including high performers) and the growing number of colleagues actively searching for new roles only reinforce the sense of instability and internal negativity.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We’re glad to hear your appreciation for the people and benefits at Camunda. At the same time, we take your concerns seriously, particularly around communication and clarity of direction. Transformations can be challenging, and while our goal is to build a high performing, supportive environment, we recognize there’s more work to do to strengthen trust and alignment. Your feedback matters and we are listening.
