Expect to work crazy hours

Anonymous employee

Business Outlook

Pros

Benefits are on par with other tech companies

Cons

Expect to work crazy hours. Remote first means working overtime. They constantly move the goal post with new and bigger targets. Everyone is expected to “overachieve”, simply achieving targets is considered unacceptable. Expect to get pinged/messaged at all hours of the day and night. They love to promise you the world but in reality, there is little to no career growth, no bonuses and no salary increase.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback; we genuinely appreciate your honesty and would like to address your concerns. As a scaling company, change is both inevitable and essential for our success. This is particularly true for Series A-E, where adapting our strategies and approaches is extremely crucial for remaining competitive and focused on our goals. Ensuring employee well-being, promoting healthy work-life integration and enabling supportive leadership is a priority at Camunda. We absolutely do not advocate for long hours. As a flexible global remote company, every Camundi is encouraged to manage their own calendars and we understand that different time zones can make things tricky, Slack being an informal communication tool, messages may come in based on different time zones. However, we expect responses only during your work hours, respecting your personal time. We would really like to ensure we can address any of these aspects that did not work for you. If you are comfortable, we would highly appreciate you reaching out to our CPO to ensure we look into ways to improve further. Thank you once again for your transparency and for sharing your thoughts with us. Camunda People Team

Horrible culture !

Business Outlook

Pros

Salary slightly above average, Remote work, home office perks.

Cons

- Company culture - Obsessed with DEI, more interested in your gender/pronouns than your skills. - Horrible ambiance in work and projects, never a smile or a laugh. - Overly complex infra of their platform and internal IT, no logic, overspending 100k of dollars a month on redundant tooling and no one wants to move, evolve or fix this.

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate you taking the time to add this and we’re sad to learn that you didn’t have a positive experience. Diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI) is exceptionally important at Camunda, and although all feedback is taken seriously, we do not tolerate any type of discriminatory comments. Negative comments towards gender/identity diversity impede the ability to foster a welcoming, affirming workplace for all and can be considered as workplace bullying and against our anti-harassment and DEI policy. We will continue to be an inclusive employer of choice for all Camundi and are proud of the amazing diversity amongst our team. Additionally, as Humor is part of our F.A.I.T.H. values, it is unfortunate that you did not experience the lighter side of our environment and appreciate you sharing that feedback. Finally, our IT team is continuously working to improve and iterate on their processes and break linearity on previous ways of working. As a scaling start-up, this growth and iteration is part of the experience in a growing and evolving company like ours.

No Onboarding, Just Expectations

Pros

Remote work can be an advantage if you maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Cons

I was overwhelmed within just two months. There was no proper onboarding, yet high expectations were set from day one. With no clear direction on deliverables, I was left to figure things out on my own. Working across time zones meant I was often up day and night, leading to an unhealthy work-life balance.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We take feedback seriously and recognize that your onboarding and initial experience did not meet the high standards we aim to set for our Camundi. While we design our work environment to support async collaboration and empower team members to work autonomously, we understand that this approach can be challenging, especially during the initial months. Our comprehensive new Camundi onboarding is intended to provide support, but we clearly missed the mark in helping you feel fully oriented and successful. We pride ourselves on being a global team that values work-life integration, and we absolutely do not advocate for long hours. Your feedback highlights an area where we need to improve our support for new team members adapting to our async work model. If you're open to providing more details, we'd welcome the opportunity to learn more about your specific challenge and encourage you to reach out to our CPO directly.
