Good, but not the best.

Pros

It was the only offer that I got right after college. That's the best reason for me. Another good reason is they only care about your ability to get the work done. Working hours are very flexible. I like this a lot because I am not an early person. The work environment is great. Everyone is so friendly. There is no competition or politics. There is only cooperation.

Cons

Salary is relatively low compares to other finance positions. But in a job market like this. I should feel lucky to find a job at all. Also potential career advancement within the company seems to be very limited.

Pros

Good compensation, smart co-workers, many different career paths. Nice work environment, flexibility of schedule and future of work is helpful.

Cons

Bureaucracy, Job security is poor in some areas. Lots droids who talk about nothing but work.

Capital One - Great Place to Work

Pros

Compensation, Benefits. Capital One is probably one of the leading financial service companies in terms of pay. I've seen VPs and above at other institutions come to Capital One, receive a lower 'title', yet make significantly more than they were making at their prior employer. Work is interesting as well, particularly as we attempt to integrate 2 regional banks that we brought within the last couple of years.

Cons

Bureacracy. Capital One got in trouble with Regulators a few years back for the lack of a formalized compliance program, so of course the company did what any institution does in those situations, which is to over-engineer their remediation efforts. This has caused the company to become less nimble and innovative as it used to be.
