      Pros

      Experience, professional growth. Management is spotty, but I worked for some good managers that I respected. I was able to get good training and experience in the area I wanted to focus on. Management did do a great job keeping us focused on task andd not allowing other jobs to interfere.

      Cons

      Using refurb older equipment for employees. Bureaucratic hurdles everywhere. Much talk little action. I had a lot of travel. Traveling with older equipment while representing Dell was something of an embarrassment. My manager had too many direct reports to keep on top of.

      Pros

      The world is your oyster. They will let you step into most any void you find as long as you continue to show results. Though it has gotten more political

      Cons

      Reorganization once a quarter. Lack of long term direction. Priorities constantly shift. The focus is on cost. Employees are not truly valued as important. The will take from you as much as you let them. Top heavy and increasingly high red tape. People have blinders on and focus on making themselves look good, but the bigger picturee gets lost.

      Bad processes and systems.

      Pros

      The salary is not that bad and overall the people outside sees Dell as a great company. This is good for the career to have Dell in the resume but it is not for a long term.

      Cons

      The processes and systems in place at the company are terrible. People uses to work a lot of extra hours to get the job done and are not always recognized for that. Recently the company started several cuts on operational costs what means cuts on expenses for everybody except for the senior management. Lots of jobs were transfered to emerging countries with low paycheck and low quality delivered.
