Pros

The people are really nice and laid back. You will have an awesome resume builder and work with a great group of talented young individuals. They care about your promotions and how much you're learning. However, they also care about your personal life and how satisfied you are with your job. That is reall nice and reassuring. Also, the people are Deloitte aren't nerds or stuck up like some ppl at the other firms which makes it a really nice place to work. Finally, we know how to party and have free time but that doesn't consume our day. In the end, we're still accountants and you can't forget that.

Cons

The hours during busy season. I'm not too crzy about the office either. Not alot of sunlight enters the center of the office where the cubilces are because the managements offices surround the windows. I'd like more travel opportunties with tax too. But overall, I can't say too much negative stuff about Deloitte because there isn't any.

Pros

Delloite has no real benefits that any of the big four firms do not have. I suppose it is good to have on your resume when you switch to another firm ( which it appears that 90 percent of people plan on doing). They have some decent benefits such as gym subsidies( unfortanately you dont get the time off to get to the gym) If anyone is thinking about going to the big four think hard. I would definately reccomend going to a place that pays you overtime for the time that you put in and is more equitable with there employees.

Cons

I have been working at deloitte for a little over six months including one busy season. Busy season was extremely difficult With long hours and no overtime pay. I was expecting the hours to decrease following busy season but this did not happen. The earliest that I have gotten out of the clients office was 8:00 and this only happened a few times. I was also put on a client in an industry that I am completely uninterested in. I spoke with my counselor and scheduler to try and get my client changed and got turned down. It is interesting that there are many employees who are unassigned for months at a time while there are others who sit in the office until 11:00 at night.

Pros

5 weeks Paid Time Off plus National Holidays. Depending on project, great opportunity to interface with client executives.

Cons

No benefit of starting with an advanced degree, M.S. graduates and B.S. undergraduates start at the same level with minimal salary difference. Some Project leadership blatantly disregard work-life balance issues. Organization is very Top-heavy and junior staff is penalized for for reasons that are controlled by senior management. Staff is recognized on number of hours billed, and not project performance.
