Pros
People are smart and generally supportive. This largely depends on the team you land in, but it’s possible to have inspiring conversations with your peers.
Cons
Partners mass hire without commiting to people development. What this creates is large teams where about 40% of people know how to do the job and the rest is left to figure it out by themselves because no one has the time to train them. There is an incredible pressure to only work billable hours. You will end up re-doing the poorly done job of someone else because their managers and buddies don’t have time to deal with their development and yet no one wants to fire them because they are someone’s former colleague / their wife’s friend, etc. People take pride in workinf day and night and it’s an active battle to turn non-essential tasks down, because everyone expects you to want to only do work in your life. Sad.
