      Pros

      Great opportunity for advancement, and a huge selection of fields to choose from. 3M is one of the most diverse companies I've seen. If you can handle working for a very large company then this is one of the top companies to work for.

      Cons

      It's a large company, so there are a lot of rules and policies which can be good and bad. Otherwise, I haven't seen any issues.

      Good pay, benefits, and time off

      Cons

      The IT org is constantly going through layoffs. The work is going to managed service providers in India. The whole process is clown shoes. They are letting people go that have been here for 20+ years that have so much knowledge and expect to transfer it over to workers who are extremely siloed, who might not even be around in 6 months(the retention rate for this particular MSP is abysmal). These workers are not even dedicated to 3M, they have many other projects. I’m concerned for 3M’s IT future. Walking over dollars to pick up pennies
