Pros

You have a lot of opportunities to learn new skills. Compensation is okay.

Cons

Do not trust senior leadership as they speak out the side of their mouths (say one thing in one sentence then take's it away in another, we need to grow, yet we're cutting salespeople) very dysfunctional relationship between senior leadership and teams. Very risk averse that drives decisions within the company. Too many people in positions that "check a box" vs. helping the company innovate and move forward. Processes and procedures are the rods in the back of the organization that limit its ability to release products. In my opinion, leadership do not know how to lead but great at managing teams, which is not want the company needs at the moment.

Pros

Good pay, benefits, and time off

Cons

The IT org is constantly going through layoffs. The work is going to managed service providers in India. The whole process is clown shoes. They are letting people go that have been here for 20+ years that have so much knowledge and expect to transfer it over to workers who are extremely siloed, who might not even be around in 6 months(the retention rate for this particular MSP is abysmal). These workers are not even dedicated to 3M, they have many other projects. I’m concerned for 3M’s IT future. Walking over dollars to pick up pennies
