Pros

The positive side to working for Amazon is the opportunities offered by the company. For full time employees they offer a health benefit package, retirement plan, sick leave and vacation pay, and tuition assistance. The company also promotes activities to keep their employees healthy such as stretching before shifts, staying properly hydrated, and rest breaks.

Cons

The downside I experienced while working for Amazon was the difficulty adjusting from work days to days off. I had a 10 hour workday and worked overnight starting at 6:30 pm and finishing at 5:00 am. My family is on more of a traditional schedule so on my days off I felt like a zombie trying to be a part of activities. It can also be a tiring place to work. The 10 hour shifts with only 30 minutes for lunch is tough and they like to push productivity and speed like it's a contest between employees there. Eventually it was too much for me to handle but I can see it being a good fit for someone in their 20's without a family yet.

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
