Micromanaged, robot treatment, work setting - Customer Service Representative General Dynamics Information Technology Employee Review

Pros

relatively high pay for dead-end non-degree job, time goes quickly, can be an alright job if viewed as a stop-gap remedy to make a living/ pay bills

Cons

constant feeling of being replacable, verbal abuse over phone from dissatisfied callers, sitting all day without moving, getting zero rewards or positive reinforcement for effective work, getting reprimanded for ridiculous infractions--ie. going twenty seconds over on break, horrible call monitering assesments--a bad call if you don't do something obscure like express sympathy when the caller isn't even necessarily upset, etc, etc, etc

Pros

If you actually put the work in, you are highly likely to get a raise above 2% every year.

Cons

Constantly shifting schedule. Downtime means you are sitting at your desk doing nothing or studying then doing nothing.
