Pros

Pay is good People are nice

Cons

Closed, hierarchical culture. Hostility between teams. Bureaucratic and incredibly inefficient and disorganised in many ways. Old fashioned. Big discrepancies in pay for people doing the same jobs. I was hired with no expectation that I should be able to understand German. However, many things were sent in German only, from the company Christmas card to pension and insurance documents. Even the form to return my equipment was German only. I’ve worked for other German companies in Germany and this is not normal. A company of this size definitely has the resources to be more inclusive.

Thank you for working as a Programmer with us in Düsseldorf and for providing a review of your impressions. At Henkel, we play as a team and therefore you could always be sure of good cooperation with your colleagues. At the same time, we also want all our employees to feel equally welcome in our company. For this reason, almost all internal documents are available in both German and English. However, should any difficulties occur, your colleagues will always be happy to help you. We take your criticism seriously and will evaluate how we can further improve this and become even more agile in the future. Best regards, Your Henkel Team

Pros

The ability to learn on the job training by other experienced Maint Electricians is definitely a benefit.

Cons

Trying to grasp all the different technical terms used internally by the Henkel Maint team is a huddle I have to overcome.
