Pros

Competitive salary, needed to compete with other top banks for hiring, but just don't forget the 5 year vesting for any bonus payments you actually get, just in case you ever think about leaving lol because you'll be asked to hand back any bonus that has not fully vested

Cons

Forget work/life balance... Think WeWork gone out of control, stressed-out-drill-sergeant-type alpha managers (both male and female) screaming regularly off the top of their lungs at their subordinates because they can't reach their impossible performance targets, HR managers who could of course hear the screaming through the walls but choose to pretend nothing ever happened, and then there's the annual redundancy announcements just before the office Xmas party... Surprise! You'll be around for one more year! or... you get a surprise empty box on your desk, because they were generous enough to let you go back to your desk, pack up and leave. It's beautiful, somebody should make a movie out of this

Pros

Supportive firm-wide culture; competitive pay; surrounded by some of the smartest people you'll ever meet.

Cons

Like most banking jobs, incredibly long hours. Group specific: culture can be poor / not well supported, poor organization / staffing at group level.
