Pros

KPMG's investment in its employee's is amazing. Management's desire to see competent staff succeed and improve is phenomenal. This is Big4 public accounting we're talking about - yes you kill yourself for half the year, sometimes more, but in my experience management is very aware of the toll the hours take on its staff. Extra paid time off, generous end-of-engagement gifts, and bonuses all make putting in the extra work a little less excruciating.

Cons

Long hours come with the job. I repeat - long, long hours come with the job. Anyone who complains of the hours worked ought not have taken a job at a Big4 firm. There are little annoyances, but none worth calling out in this forum.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
