Pros

* Excellent colleagues * Generous salary and benefits (though see last con below) * Superb work-life balance * Interesting work, with many opportunities to participate in new projects and broaden horizons

Cons

* Lack of flexibility, especially in hybrid/location-independent working (dealbreaker) * One bad manager who didn't set clear expectations and had a habit of shifting the goalposts (dealbreaker) * Lack of growth and development opportunities in my area and geographic location (dealbreaker) * More generally, the top-down, US-centric approach can make people in "remote" offices feel alienated * Lots of in-house training and ~6 months of onboarding, with limited opportunities for external events (e.g., conferences) in my area * Deadline chaos at the end of release cycles * Pay did not go up in line with inflation in 2023, so my pay was effectively cut in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis

Pros

The company places a strong emphasis on continuous learning and professional growth, with clear encouragement for employees to develop their skills over time. There are frequent, fun company events that help build connections across teams and contribute to a genuinely friendly and collaborative culture. Overall, the organization takes a very staff-focused approach, prioritizing employee well-being and fostering an environment where people feel supported and valued.

Cons

With a globally distributed workforce, it can sometimes be challenging to coordinate schedules or connect in person with colleagues.
