Pros

Excellent work life balance, Modernish tech stack, A good place to learn to engineer, follow a process, do structured work, learn and grow. A lot of veterans around who can mentor you. Interesting and Challenging problems to work on. Very well resourced company and will do everything they can to get you all the things you need to get your work done efficiently.

Cons

Compensation is below industry average. Growth and promotions are difficult and there is no clear career trajectory. VSA (Avigilon) org has had constant reorgs in the last couple of years which has caused some chaos. Office politics at the management level feels exhausting.

Pros

I highly value the autonomy I am given to manage my own workload, and I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with several of my talented colleagues.

Cons

That independence comes at a cost. The company is incredibly disorganized and siloed. Management will force lateral moves on you without asking; I've ended up balancing four different roles with absolutely no pay increase. Requests for fair compensation compared to the peers I trained were completely ignored. Territories change constantly, but zero training is provided. You are essentially left entirely on your own to figure it out.
