Pros

good pay, I had a good manager, but they are difficult to come by, Urban sports discount, bvg discount - lots of freebies to trick you

Cons

Everything they told me about the role that I wouldn't have to do they then made me do it all within the first few weeks. Working hours make it impossible to have good mental health or a life outside of work. The shift patterns made no sense, it was hard to create any sort of team culture as everyone was put on completely different shifts and moved around within teams all of the time, the shifts also made it impossible to be able to organise anything outside of work. I would never recommend this job to anyone, the work is extremely tedious and N26 often didn't even have any answers for customers which just created more anger, with us, cs staff having to try our best to do anything to calm them down, or send them an automated response that would just anger them even more, a complete mess to be honest. Also the phone training was completely useless.

It’s encouraging for us to hear you had a good working relationship with your manager, and that you enjoyed your perks and benefits. However, it’s clear that your expectations for training and scheduling were not met, and we would like to respond to these concerns. This year we have increased the weekly training hours for our Customer Service Specialists, to ensure they are kept up to date and are empowered with the relevant knowledge and skills to answer all of our customers' questions. We have also reviewed and refreshed our catalog of training workshops, with the intention of keeping our content innovative and engaging for the learner. We continue to update and work on our Knowledge Base, to make information, updates and answers quick and easy to find. We have a dedicated scheduling team that is available to support our team and answer their questions. Above and beyond complying with all labour laws (i.e. resting time, consecutive working days, days off & break scheduling etc.), we aim to match our people with their preferred schedules as much as possible. In 2020, the percentage of preference granted is above 70%. Of course there will always be a balance required, to ensure we cover our operating hours and meet changing business drivers such as customer growth and the evolution of our product. We guarantee a minimum of 2 weekends off per month, and put measures in place to prevent people from having different shifts everyday. We appreciate that there is always room for improvement, and we have shared your feedback with our leadership team in CS for further reflection and action. Our goal is to continue to improve our employee experience, and your feedback plays an important role in this. Thanks for getting in touch, and for being a part of the journey with us.

Pros

Small team in NYC working on bringing N26 to the US. Flat team structure (no bureaucracy or painful hierarchies). Open lines of communication and instant feedback loops. Everyone is extremely smart and driven towards a common goal, and we also enjoy each other's company both in and out of the office. There's also respect for having a life outside of work and a good sense of balance. Huge opportunity to take on as much work as you can handle and drive your own workstreams and outputs. I've found that my scope of responsibilities is quite large, and since joining, I've broadened my skill-set significantly in areas I wanted to expand upon.

Cons

Coordination with Berlin can be difficult at times given time zones and hypergrowth there. Nonetheless, people always are willing to help out and make themselves available when needed. Small team size as of now means fewer hands to help with all that needs to get done. That said - plenty of opportunity for new joiners to take on key tasks and responsibilities as we continue to grow the team
