Pros

- Broader company, RBC Capital Markets, has good reputation in Canada - Office close to Union Station (accessible through PATH)

Cons

- They hire educated immigrants to fulfill a middle office function which is mainly administrative in nature - Very little credit skills - High pressure environment for lacklustre pay (not 9 to 5) - Team Leads are micromanagers at both VP and Director level - No talent development and do not consider role as stepping stone to Corporate Banking or other front-office roles

Pros

Stable work life balance. The culture is really great, very easy to work with complex management and managers. Willing to help you grow and learn with clients

Cons

Not a lot of room for growth unless you come in the door with that expectation. It can be very easy to get stuck in this role as your pay slowly increases and the job title mostly stays the same. Associate promotions and raises are rarely given and take a lot of coercion to get.
