Pros

- People-focused with a strong emphasis on work-life balance. TD encourages community engagement and provides ample support to those who volunteer. - Positive, respectful work environment that encourages people to bring their full self to work. Diversity of every variety is celebrated. - Many opportunities to grow within your business segment. Professional development opportunities (eg. professional designations, job shadows, internal secondments) are abundant and management supports those who want to pursue them. Overall, TD is an outstanding place to work and grow your career.

Cons

- High-performing people will find the pace to be too slow. TD is a comfortable place to work later in your career, but does not always provide the challenge that many are looking for early in their career. - Processes and technology hinder your ability to deliver outstanding service to clients and be efficient. Far too much time is spent consuming performing administrative/repetitive tasks that could easily be automated. By extension, unnecessarily complicated processes are frustrating and impact client experience. - High turnover has resulted in some people managers moving into their role out of tenure and necessity rather than quality of work / ability. Where this is the case, there is knowledge, but not leadership. - "Work-life balance as long as it is outside of business hours." One can work on unpaid overtime extensively, but it will not be considered for flex time.

Pros

The management team was supportive, and the branch had a strong team-oriented culture. Because it was a smaller branch, employees had the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, collaborate across roles, and learn from one another. Team members regularly shared ideas, provided constructive feedback, and supported each other's professional growth, creating a positive and rewarding work environment.

Cons

The main areas for improvement would be compensation and scheduling flexibility. At the time, I felt the pay was somewhat low relative to my previous leadership experience in retail management. While compensation may be competitive for some entry-level banking roles, I would have appreciated a stronger alignment between pay and prior supervisory experience. Aside from that, my decision to leave was based on pursuing a different career path rather than any issues with the company itself. TD Bank offers a professional work environment, supportive teams, and valuable opportunities for growth and development within the banking industry.
