Pros

This is an excellent entry level position for a person looking to expand their abilities in providing excellent customer service. It is a stepping stone to things that are greater.

Cons

The training provided for my Microsoft technical support contract was non-existent. I was expected to just pick up cloud computing without assistance or availability of subject matter experts. There is a constant push to be a telemarketer while you are performing IT engineering duties. The compensation for providing IT support for complex technical issues is not appropriate. Management has the mentality that people should just expect a dismal work environment.

Pros

For the most part, I have an open availability. I do however, like not having to work on Sundays. Some campains allow for a 1 hour lunch break. The hiring process was fairly easy. Your equipment is provided. There is opportunity for advancement. They are helpful when it comes to license renewal. Calls are back to back which for me seems to make time go faster. Flexibly as to when you want to take your lunch break. You have to opportunity to assist people without having to feel it was rushed. Off all major holidays.

Cons

Rushed training that may leave some questions unanswered. I feel like I had to figure things out on my own. Getting the assistance you need to help a client took longer than it should, especially when the client is on on hold, waiting for your response. At times some trainers seem to be unprepared for the roll they have taken. Calls are frequently monitored. Not much time between calls. It can take too long to transition from on campain to the next after the project has ended.
