Pros

Everyone is very helpful but if your not part of the global team your invisible.

Cons

Upper management is only concerned with the bottom line, orders. They should be looking at revenue per output. I have no idea how this company has stayed in business so long working like this. Smaller business would die on this type of momentum. They are constantly trying to figure out how to keep their employees. Survey after survey yet they do very little about what they receive. If they are looking to keep employees it may be best to offer more than 10 days vacation. It is very hard for those who do not live by family to see them at all if you work at UL and only have a few days vacation. Most companies are offering 3 -4 weeks vacation per year. Some flexibility and working from home would be an eye catcher, too.

UL Solutions Response

Thank you for the valuable work you do as an Inside Sales Rep! On top of our vacation policy, we also offer incidental absent time (sick days), paid holidays, two “floating” holidays, as well as two paid work days to volunteer. Also, UL does have a flexible working policy that allows for some work-from-home scenarios for eligible roles, depending on the nature of the job.

Pros

The work is interesting. Some decent travel is available if desired. If you work hard and set yourself apart from others you can earn a promotion.

Cons

It’s all about who you know. All responsibilities fall on Engineering. Engineering does much more than “engineer” and spend too much time on stuff that admin staff “should be able” to do. When something needs to change the usual solution is to have Engineers be responsible for it because many non-engineers can’t handle mediocre tasks.
