Pros

good compensation (not benefits) , ask during negotiation itself because once you join they have very restricted guidelines for growing compensation wise (supposedly their compensation policy?!) (I am seeing many of my peers stuck in their roles and looking out outside desperately) work profile is good and can spend a couple of years to work on unique products that they have. (not a long term company because growth oppt. are lesser) They follow some career framework model that I found unique and nice.

Cons

I have almost completing a year here in Wolters Kluwer India. Let me tell you that they change policies like socks. Their India HR policies right from leaves have changed twice in my year of service and I got to know that policies and HR team keeps changing frequently, their initial policy was good and now it seems that have started to cut down everything and they have also stooped to the level of pro-rating even sick leaves, (I can understand paid leaves that way) - I have witnessed this for the first time in my career of 18+ years of experience, it looks like i can fall sick only once in a month. If i fall sick twice, I have to apply for unpaid leave, such an old school policy (in my opinion, even manufacturing companies these days don't do this anymore). Pathetic policies being created and I am sure that in Indian context, it will backfire them and later after some months they would change the HR folks and policies again. Typical private owner culture. if you are looking for a decent mental piece of mind apart from working hours, stay away from this org since there are long working hours and weekend working with no pay benefits One of my team members changed from this organisation and joined a new one, and he got all of his benefits after months and months of followup. Insurance vendors keep changing, I had seen problems claiming due amounts with my team member and the insurance vendors do not reply inspite of multiple follow-ups which goes into infinite loop. a team member that i know has stopped claiming saying that following up takes the entire month. There is no benefits team and only there is some services team which manages these aftermath of policy and processes through some ticketing tool Not really sure how the MD or the senior management is tackling these issues or may be just they don't even want to because they dont want to do things that are trending up. I am sure after this, their tendency will not be to take this genuine feedback and work on it but find and trace out my details to take an action.

It’s great to hear that the product culture, autonomy, and exposure to meaningful challenges are coming through so strongly, along with the support for growth into leadership roles. Creating an environment where people feel trusted, can contribute, and continue to develop is a key part of how product teams succeed. Pros

Wolters Kluwer has some genuinely amazing people working for them and offers flextime for good work/life balance

Cons

Recently began pushing to "inhouse-outsource" as much of the core business functions as possible to their new service center in Pune, India. While many of my Indian colleagues are exceptional people, the constant turnover with overseas contractors and haphazard hiring and training process means that many of these staff members are woefully underprepared and set up for failure. As an example, I had to train my Indian contractor replacement before I left - while he was a lovely person, he had zero training in or experience with US payroll, benefit or tax structures despite that being approximately 50% of my core job function.
