Pros
Good work culture unless you have a very mean immediate manager. Opportunity to apply to other opportunities within the company if you are not happy with your current position. Allow employees to move between management and tech roles if you are in C8 (staff engineer/ team manager) or above role.
Cons
Some business units are shrinking, meaning no backfills and more work for the the same amounts of salary if you are in such a business unit. Talent imbalance, some teams are high competent some are not. You will not know it until go there and start working. Move above C7 (Senior Engineer) can sometimes be bit tricky and challenging depending on the business unit / department you are in.
