Pros

Solid Fair Company. Great branding and visualization. It is truly wonderful to come to work where people care about one another and enjoy working together for a greater purpose, which is to service the world. FedEx helps the Economy and we definitely do our share of supporting outside causes such as United Way. It was absolutely amazing at how many were willing to volunteer their time and efforts this past Christmas Day and never complained about it. We just knew it had to be done. It made me proud that when companies are dying out there from the soft economy that our leader, Fred Smith, stood up for his company and said instead of downsizing and layoffs, we are going to take a pay decrease from my salary on down. That shows someone who cares.

Cons

It is so competitive that it is hard at times to move ahead professionally speaking.

Pros

It is a great company where employees are valued. Employees are rewarded based on performance. So a good, hard worker with lots of initiative will find a very favorable environment for lots of personal and professional growth. Their commitment to people is deep. Letting an employee go, or a group of employees, is only ever done as a very last resort. The benefits package is one of the best, and it is still mostly paid for by the company. There are many opportunities for special recognition and reward. The bonus program is based on performance of the company as well as the employee.

Cons

It is a corporation. So some of the same problems of red tape and policy slowdowns that exist at other corporations exist here. Also, being a corporation, there are some silo'd groups within the organization. But upper management has been working to resolve those silo issues for the past few years. While a motivated and talented person will find the performance based atmosphere very beneficial, someone just looking for a place to collect a paycheck will find an environment that moves and adapts quickly. If you are looking for a repetitive, predictable task job, you won't find what you are looking for here. Be prepared for new adventures and challenges every few weeks.

Pros

Fedex is a great paying job in today's economy. Where can you go straight from high school, no college education and start at almost $13 an hour. They offer tuition reimbursement, a great benefit package, and retirement options, to everyone (part time included). The people are great. I really love my job I wouldn't change it for anything

Cons

Christmas is crazy around her to be expected, full time is hard to get unless you want a driver postion, and as part time you can get as little as 17.5 hours per week.
