Pros

- Frankly, not much. Maybe free Snacks? - Some good coworkers, but they’re all looking for a way out.

Cons

Horrible Management – Leadership is completely disconnected, riddled with favoritism, and lacks the competence to run the company efficiently. Expect constant chaos, last-minute decisions, and endless rework. The organization is top-heavy, making it feel like you have multiple bosses but no real direction. Toxic Work Culture – Micromanagement, office politics, and backstabbing define the workplace. If you’re not part of the “inner circle,” you’re expendable. Leadership kept one of the most toxic electrical engineers on payroll—despite universal dislike in the org—simply because he was friends with the director. Employee perks and incentives? Slashed. The engineering bet bonus—gone. Monthly record sales bonuses and BBQs—cut. In-person music lessons—gutted. Zero Work-Life Balance – Employees are expected to sacrifice personal time with no recognition or appreciation. Burnout is inevitable, and management couldn’t care less. No Career Growth – Promotions are handed out based on favoritism rather than merit. Hard work goes unnoticed, while incompetence is rewarded. Don’t expect professional development—there’s no clear path forward. Outdated Processes & Resistance to Change – Innovation is stifled as leadership refuses to modernize or listen to new ideas. The company operates in slow motion, frustrating anyone who values efficiency and progress. High Turnover – Talented employees don’t stick around longer than 2 years. Three VPs and directors recently left from yet another restructuring. 15-25 year veterans decided to move on. The revolving door speaks for itself—this is not a place to build a future. Final Warning: Read the negative reviews—they’re spot on. The five-star reviews? Suspicious at best. Proceed with caution.

Fieldpiece Instruments Response

We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. Our goal is to make every employment relationship successful and in the vast majority of cases we’re successful in that. But some relationships do not work out for all kinds of reasons. I would note that there are multiple specific factual assertions in this post that are not accurate. For example, our music program is still very active, with options for in-person and online lessons in all locations. Additionally, we have a bonus program for all employees in the organization, and continue to offer activities to celebrate together with BBQs and catered lunches. We have development opportunities for all tribe members with active development planning as part of our quarterly reviews. Our turnover has trended down for four consecutive years. We wish you had a more positive experience and wish you well in your future endeavors.
