Pros

Good trustworthy people on the lower levels. Lunches, snacks and bagels on Wednesdays. Bonus twice a year. Huge office. Company movies. PTO was always easy to get approved.

Cons

Jive was great! It was bought out by LogMeIn and everything was a step down: benefits, culture and job security. We used to have lavish parties with raffles and gifts. Our Christmas party with LMI was eating hot dogs at the skating rink. They let go 3% of the company worldwide to look good for the shareholders before Q1. There is no upward mobility - only lateral movement. The middle management that I've worked with (with one exception) got highly defensive with opposing opinions and was retaliatory afterwards. I saw petty bullying and blatant exclusion of team members. Obviously, there is a lot of distrust. There are people with no formal education in management roles who got the job through inside contacts (this isn't always a bad thing), but the mandate was basically to work hard and not smart which is very counter productive. The pay was below average and the raises were meager. There are a lot of unhappy people trying to get by and are scared of the company. People work here to get experience and then move up to a better company to get paid what they are worth - like a community college.

Pros

Great work-life balance Nice office space Decent benefits

Cons

Working in a finance role was depressing/ misery inducing. If you are a positive, social person, stay away from finance roles. Communication was very limited, almost non-existent. Do not let the open floor plan fool you. People that you work with every day will walk past you and not acknowledge your presence. Also, most of the people in senior positions came from the same company, so it's overall very cliquey. In addition to the toxic environment, there was absolutely no growth or development. They like to preach about growth and how employees should be responsible for their own development, which partially makes sense. However, in order for one to grow, there needs to be opportunity. Opportunities were saved for those in the "clique". The sexism within finance was also rampant. Out of line comments were made frequently, to my dismay.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It’s good to hear that you enjoyed work-life balance and our creatively designed office space. I’m sorry to hear that your experience at LogMeIn did not match our intention of being a place that inspired you to do the best work of your career. We are a fast-paced, high growth technology company and believe there are opportunities for all employees to learn, grow and thrive; we do ask our employees to own their career development but provide support from multiple areas, including direct manager, leaders, HR business partners and more. We are continuing to build out our learning and development offerings and have just launched an internal mobility job portal to make it easier for all employees to know what open jobs we have. Our focus for this year is to invest in training for our managers and our leaders to improve their skills in the areas of communication, cascading & alignment, employee growth & engagement and leading through change. Lastly, I am really pleased to have worked with the Finance leadership on a recent round of promotions including 2 new Director promotions for very strong female managers in Finance and all 3 of the new BU head of finance roles being filled by female employees. We have some great talent all across Finance representing both women and men. LogMeIn is committed to fostering a diverse work environment where employees live our values and treat each other with dignity and respect. Regarding your comments about sexism and inappropriate comments, I would very much like to understand more about this so we can address it immediately and effectively. Our Finance team is made up of as many women as men and we must make sure we are providing a positive workplace for all of the team. Please reach out to me at jenn.joos@logmein.com. I am the HR business partner dedicated to working with the Finance team and will personally look further into this. I look forward to hearing from you.

Pros

Benefits are good, Flexible work, People

Cons

Yearly layoffs to close US office sites. Probably fine if you work in Germany or Hungary. Otherwise, it’s just a matter of time.
