I worked at LogMeIn who acquired Citrix Online around 2017. After laying off much of the Santa Barbara based marketing team, and much of the other teams, all management became based out of the Boston Office. My direct manager had zero interest in keeping any of our meetings, and the entire Boston team was hesitant to even use our award winning software that Citrix Online built, GoToMeeting. Most of the people at headquarters didn't even turn on their cameras. Our once thriving office became a sad step child of the larger brand. The CEO rarely came out to visit our office and there was a collective feeling like we were a sinking ship. A few years later, and everyone has gone remote and they have sold off their santa Barbara offices. Very depressing for anyone who spent their last couple years working there.

I think a handful of brilliant jerks overshadow the masses of brilliant and diligent people. I felt senior leadership and HR turned a blind eye to sexism and discrimination minimizing events that might have been reported to them. This seems to not only overshadow the well-intentioned people that are trying to make a difference but actually scare them off. Because of this, it makes me think women will have more difficulty in thriving in such an environment.
