Pros

I don't know any pro's since from the beginning of working for this company you get made to feel replaceable and if you work hard and do an amazing job that gets many compliments you get moved to more challenging areas of the shop that should be used to drive bad staff out.

Cons

The common theme with the market street store is use and abuse the good staff as the lazy ones get sent to areas like the home section. The store manager also likes to guilt trip you if you ever get sick so make sure you never get sick. The store manager will be more than happy to drive you to exhaustion and see you work when you aren't fit to do so running through as many staff members as she can. She holds no duty of care for her staff team. This job is a no win situation you get abused for your hard work whilst you observe lazy staff getting away with everything possible. There also appears to be an enclosed culture in the workplace so don't expect to be invited to any Christmas parties etc, the store gets a certain funding for this event and they like to keep their circle small so they have more free drinks for themselves. It's very difficult to get the holidays you want booked off even with multiple month notice and then when they tell you to make sure you use your annual leave they refuse everything. You get sent home early and they use your annual leave this way. I'm in the middle of putting together an investigation i will be sending externally and I will CC their own HR into these emails because I know managers and internal HR have some sort of closed culture. Fortunately I know how to deal with these problems and its time for operation clean up.
