Pros

HKA has progressed considerably over the few years, particularly by really listening to employees and taking on board their feedback provided in the surveys. The company is much more collaborative and provides great development opportunities for all. There have been impressive inroads in respect of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and this remains a high priority across the company globally, which is great to see. Their response to Covid and the way they managed this was excellent. They put the health and wellbeing of their staff at the forefront throughout the Pandemic and continue to do so.

Cons

Sometimes have to work long hours to manage workload.

We are not complacent about the positive points you made - we still have more to do together around Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED and I), health and well-being, learning, and development. In a global business that cares about its clients and people - that sometimes does happen to try to hit the standards, deadlines, etc. The important point is occasional long hours are fine, yet regular is not. Pros

Nice Colleagues Diverse & Inclusive Opportunity to Progress

Cons

Support Staff hugely under resourced and expected to work long hours. Inconsistent treatment between fee earners & non fee earners. Poor Salary and increases. 3% yearly increase being described as ‘Exemplary’.

I notice that you no longer work with us at HKA. Thank you for all you have done to help HKA improve. Wishing you great success in your next chapter. In terms of your points for improvement, which I respect are your opinion, I share some thoughts in response: - "Support Staff hugely under-resourced and expected to work long hours" - we constantly look at our organizational design to make sure we serve clients well and support our people to enjoy their work and to protect their health. If any area has concerns about their workload, we will seek to understand and make improvements "Inconsistent treatment between fee earners & non-fee earners" - I do see this differently to you; albeit I accept this is a general statement rather than a specific challenge. In HKA we know it takes a team to deliver and all of our colleagues are vital to us. We also recognize that our fee earners do have the ultimate accountability to win work and deliver to external clients; so this is a huge responsibility - albeit I can not point to an example of how fee earners get better treatment than non-fee earners. Speaking as a non-fee earner - I only see HKA working collaboratively together to enjoy our work and to improve HKA too. We see this point differently. Thank you for your Advice to Management "Focus more on employee well-being" - I totally agree with you. Our number 1 priority is the health and well-being of our people, particularly during this pandemic. Pros

The finance function is strong, with great people who work collaboratively to produce a genuinely supportive environment. Work life balance is good, and finance management have been fantastic during the COVID period in exercising their duty of care to their staff. The business has taken a big step forward over the last two years in terms of inclusivity and diversity.

Cons

Some system and process issues but nothing you wouldn't expect in a business that is scaling rapidly. The pension is unfortunately below average.
