      Going through a period of uncertainty

      Pros

      You do get to work on some interesting areas, with a variety of clients in corporate and government environments.

      Cons

      With the merger about a year ago with Seccuris (and subsequent acquisition by Hitachi), many changes have been made (or useful, important things put off) in the name of "harmonization". Performance and salary reviews put off for an extra year, to harmonize renumeration. Harmonization just became "consolidation" on June 27 2016, when the Winnipeg office was suddenly closed. This would be the same office that senior management swore was "not going anywhere", or maybe just moved. Those making the decision to close the Winnipeg office were not present for the shutdown. At least some employees leaving recently have moved on to significantly higher pay as well.

      Pros

      Growing company, financially stable, dedicated workforce.

      Cons

      Company is trying to grow too fast. Instead of focusing on improving current business, the organization is chasing market share and trying to enter into business that they have little knowledge about. Don't have the technical infrastructure or operating systems in place to accommodate the current business let alone new.

      Pros

      It was a job, with great lower level people and great insurance. The retirement plan for the United States was a joke since the pay never changed.

      Cons

      Mgt was out of touch and if you were not from Japan, you had no say in anything. HR turned there head to Japanese actions in the United States. 3-5 year mgt assignments, meant you would have new leadership in a few years, usually worse than previous mgt. No long term goals. Working for today to make today's numbers look good since the mgt assignments were so short term. Probably the reason the facility shut down.
