Pros
I enjoy working with really smart people and IBM is filled with them. People typically have a very well-meaning, "how can I help" attitude. The benefits are great with annual rebates for participating in a healthy living program.
Cons
The cash portion of compensation is lacking. For instance, I've been at the company for four years and have always received "top performer" or "above average contributer" ratings and have received a single 3.5% raise. Another complaint is the beaurocracy and paperwork required to do anything. We are significantly less nimble than our competitors because of this. It can also be difficult for some to work in a matrixed organization where you have to please multiple people, both your direct management and others.
