Pros

Starting salary and perks and medical benefits are the only good things about the company. You get 41-44 K in hand per month.

Cons

The list is too long unfortunately 1) There is no job profile here. Its all man management. You will be managing labors and contractors to do the work. All engineers are the same whether chemical, mechanical or electrical. 2)The job locations are horrible to say and the most remotest of places you would never have heard of. Imagine working alone in night shifts in far flung areas with no facilities. 3) Transfers every 3 years(In marketing division). Even if you are lucky enough to get a good posting you are there only fr 3 years. After that you may be posted to any place on the map of india !! 4) Politics and external influences. You will have to manage every type of person.. 5) No engineering is involved. Every job done is through vendors. At least in marketing division you will not learn anything except managing the work by scolding contractors and vendors. I don't know about refineries. 6) In about 3 years you will lose all technical skills you have. Seniors say after 4-5 years no company will hire you in market. I never met a fresher who advised not to leave the company. Every new employee wants to leave after 1-2 years. 7) There are no switching options from the company. Once you are in you are struck for good. There is no market value of an employee after 3 4 years. 8) No work life balance. You will be working on saturdays and sundays in shifts. Shitty job and that too in bulk. Top management laughs when you talk to them for about a suitable work profile. Sadist behaviour towards job specialisation. You will become a generalist with no technical skills left after some time.
