Pros

As an American at Infosys, you attain a high level of job security, as U.S. citizens previously provided Infosys with greater opportunities to land H1-B visas for their predominantly Indian workforce. You also get to travel to new places in the world, broaden your cultural horizon, and get to work with a variety of strong clients across many industries.

Cons

Upper management is inefficient. You face barrier after barrier of red tape and ineffective means of communication, promotion, and decision-making. You will have many questions and few answered. Benefits are not stellar. Work experiences will vary wildly depending on the client you are assigned to, which can range from AMEX, Gap, Microsoft, UBS, or Goldman Sachs, to much smaller named companies. Your PM may not care at all how you are progressing or may be absent altogether, or he may push you to the edge as you are leaning to your fullest potential. Generally, their soft skills could use improvement.

Pros

Infosys was a great opportunity for a recent college grad. They are a big company and I ended up spending 6 months in a very nice campus in India, and this was an amazing experience that I'd recommend to any post-college job seeker. Pay and benefits were comparable to other job offers I had received, and way higher then the averages for liberal arts majors who also were hired on for their training program. The company has vast resources and well stocked information libraries and references. It is a good name to have under your belt and it is certainly an international experience.

Cons

Infosys is plagued with bureaucracy. Because it is a large company, one often feels like a number rather than a person. All too often, coworkers do not recognize the difference between knowing something and knowing of something. Even though my position was Software Engineer after the initial training I would be placed in a business analyst role. This is not what I went to school for and there is little room for non Indians to practice their technical skills. Having history, business, and com majors fill the same position as CS grads and calling them all software engineers is slightly demoralizing from a bachelor of Science's perspective. There is no guaranteeyou will be assigned to your preferred office when returning to the USA

Pros

It is one of the world's highly equipped organizations in terms of infrastructure. Takes proper care of employees during tough times.

Cons

Not a very good place to work with for many reasons. No proper distribution of work by the leads. No proper resource management. Cannot balance professional and personal life.
