Pros

It is a great learning experience and a great way to learn about the industry. Also, depending on your group, the pay could make it worth it.

Cons

The biggest con is the typical issues that people have with investment banking. The hours are terrible and you have basically no life.

Pros

Flat organization Senior management approachable Bigger than a small firm but much smaller than bulge bracket banks

Cons

Very top heavy. Has a tradition of bringing Sr. traders from bulge-bracket with guarantees but always end up getting average traders. Does not believe in training and not a good place to start your career. Support groups are almost always neglected as the compensation is always distributed at the top. Poor technological systems

Pros

I liked most of the people. However, I've heard from friends that are current employees that the culture has gotten worse: more cut-throat, less friendly.

Cons

While I had a good experience I witnessed many situations where sr analysts would overwork and berate their associates.
