Pros

The company provided good basic healthcare with certain exclusions such as physiotherapy. Bosses and supervisors were friendly at all times.

Cons

It occurred some times to many employees that the company would forget paying a couple of days, especially with sick leaves. I like not to think that it was intentional.

Pros

Good salary (bigger than other retail companies), staff discount (10%) respect about resting shifts

Cons

So stressful environment because unless your break time (30m unpaid)you dont have time to relax due to huge number of customers, dont offer extra benefits such as staff coffee in the cantine tills not so helpful and you must remember lots of code for fruits and vegetables and quite easy doing mistakes (overcharge o dont charge any product) as you cant see the transaction until not finish that unless you print the receipt. Everything that cant be sold is wasted

Career Growth for a Price

Pros

growth opportunities, decent compensation, exciting to be part of Lidl US in the beginning stages, a few great coworkers

Cons

extremely stressful environment with a bunch of people trying to make a name for themselves. many individuals would throw fellow coworkers under the bus to make themselves look better to upper management. Upper management and the Board of Directors within the company are not American and do not want to understand or convert to the way we do business in the US (this includes American customs, laws, and even closing for inclement weather). It is also hard to work in an completely "open concept" environment with no offices or cubicles- everyone can see (and they do watch) your every move all day every day. the personal stress and soul crushing environment is not worth the comp/growth opportunities
