Pros

High energy environment, great benefits, beautiful offices, clearly defined company goals. You receive great training, and are equipped to succeed. Frequent company meetings and updates are a great encouragement to all teams.

Cons

Don't expect a regular 9-5 job if you work in any sales position. You are expected to put long hours, and leaving at a normal time (for most other companie) is frowned upon. Many are promoted due to favoritism and close friendships with management, and not actual leadership abilities. Lots of turnover in this area of the company if you don't hit your numbers quickly (3 months). The pressure is high, but so is the compensation if you succeed. Some love it, some hate it.

Thanks for your review. We certainly have an energetic and dynamic environment, especially within Sales. As you mentioned, it’s not for everyone. In any sales role, its typical to stretch the punch-clock mentality, as it enables you to earn more in your pocket. There is flexibility around the hours, and we have clear monthly targets, which make salespeople accountable on how they can achieve them.

Pros

I have worked at Lightspeed for 2 years in more than one office and I can truly say that the people here are some of the most hardworking I have ever seen. To be successful here, you need to buy into the vision and get involved, which is easy to do due to the sheer volume and pace that the company work at. They do not look at your age, they care about experience + attitude. It feels like every week we get an email about someone being promoted or moving into a new department. It is truly a place that you can grow. I work in sales and the team work together in every office to achieve target, it is a sales driven environment. You are not competing against eachother, everyone gets that it is best when we all achieve.

Cons

As others have said, it is unashamedly not a 9-5 job. But they are pretty open with that before you get into it. The company is going places so that's what you got to do sometimes. In saying that, in my experience, it has always still been flexible enough that it is not that big a deal. I love being in a place where no one slacks and you are all doing your best work.

Thanks for leaving such a great review! A part of our secret sauce is that everyone truly believes in what we’re trying to do as a company. We’re all on this crazy ride together, and push one another to achieve great things, and grow here. With that being said, you hit the nail on the head with it not being a standard punch-clock approach. We make sure to incentivise everyone for the hard work they put in. We try to offer the best for the best.

Can be great if you don't mind political games

Pros

You get to meet a lot of good people throughout all organizations. Breakfast, great lunch and soft drinks throughout the day are taken care of. Depending on the organization you will be able to learn a lot to improve your overall skillset.

Cons

Political games are definitely there. You'll need to participate in those political games to make changes you feel need to happen. The company is very sales-driven which is perfect if you're in sales.

Thanks for your candid review. We’re glad to know that you’re learning and broadening your skillset, but the political games reference is an area of concern. We would certainly like to hear more about this. We’d encourage you to go to your manager or HR Partner, for a confidential discussion, should you feel comfortable doing so. After all, we need continuous feedback to drive constant improvement.
