Solid. Almost too comfortable...

Pros

Culture is fairly consistent across Lockheed companies. Opportunities to move up. Decent benefits. Access to new technology.

Cons

Slow pace of business. Heavily bureaucratic. Tendency to value sameness or rigid thinking. Feels as if you are working to check boxes instead of to a real result or strategy.

Pros

Working with Lockheed you do get every other Friday off and generous amounts of vacation and holidays.

Cons

Everything is about the specific person that you know. People only promote people that are friends with the higher level management. You have to kiss butt to get to the top. Real talent isn't recognized. All 0-5 year employees leave for higher pay, more responsibility, and better management.

Pros

-Learning Opportunities with government and international customers -Lots of training opportunities -Many different types of positions available to explore within the company -Part of producing Great Products -There is a wide variety of projects and customers to work on and for

Cons

-Work/Life Balance is nearly impossible -Management can be unhelpful -My section is overworked and underrewarded -Very bureaucratic at times -Salary seem low for the industry -Working conditions are miserable. Most of the business management positions have no windows, the walk in from the parking lot takes around 10-15 minutes. That seems minute but it steals around 20-30 minutes lunch time everyday and adds to the beginning and ending of the commute. -Little to no reward for good or great performance. This is the worst part about working for LM. There is very little recognition for your work.
