Pros

A lot of flexibility in work schedules; for the most part, employees tend to be good, all-around, solid, decent people; compensation is at least competitive; I believe in the work they do

Cons

There are some companies that may pay better; dealing with some of the bureaucracy of a huge company (it could be must worse and you are bound to get some of this in any large company -but it is a downer); company tends to be a little more formal - it's understandable why, but it takes a little of the fun out of it; monetary bonuses seem few and far between

Pros

The flex time. If you are given the rare opportunity to travel internationally or work on an international project, this is extremely rewarding. However, these opportunities are very rare and difficult to obtain within Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems and Solutions. The ability to flex your time and I have never had a manager that is strict on "core hours" or required days or times to be in the office. The main advantage is being able to orchestrate your personal life outside of work easily. Getting your work done by the predefined deadline is the most important part of the job.

Cons

I have felt a lot of disrespect at this company. At my site, it is beyond micromanaged. On this current project I am on, there are seven managers for eight workers. The managers have not helped me, ever, in getting a new project or assignments or technologies in which I showed interest. I have always relied on my own personal networking and cold calling/emailing to learn about and to obtain interesting positions. There is still a feeling of an "old man's club" at Lockheed as there are still a large majority of white middle-aged men, at my site, specifically. If you wish to have a steady income, where the absolute minimum is required and expected, then this is the perfect job. If you have any ounce of ambition, this is not the place you want to be.

Pros

good experience coming straight out of school, plenty of opportunities and chance to further ones education with supported programs

Cons

it is a massive corporation and unless you take the necessary steps to promote self-growth you can get lost in the noise
