Pros

Training and development at the SM level is elevated beyond other similar companies. Company invests in role-plays as a form of development and sales generation. Managers must be comfortable in conducting and participating in these daily. Overall a very fair and fun company to work for. I would recommend highly to any interested party who wants to grow and develop their current skill set.

Cons

Payroll can be tight in larger volume locations.

Pros

It's an iconic brand. The company is focused on sustainability with many different projects and initiatives. You get to work with a diverse group of people. There is a big focus on individual growth and development. It's a fun and challenging work atmosphere. The brand is continuously evolving, never stagnant. It's a global company with lots of opportunities to move into different departments and also to relocate to different cities.

Cons

Because there are not as many retail locations in the US, there is a lot of travel for multi-unit managers which does not allow as much time in the stores for face to face interactions/ training, etc. The timekeeping/ scheduling system (Kronos) does not work smoothely and it seems that it is overly complicated for the purpose it serves.
