Great Company, poor subsidiary management

Pros

Great Company, willing to invest in staff. Excellent Bonus with easily achieved targets. Can feel that although set in ways sometimes, that company ethos is about caring for staff.

Cons

Management within subsidiary is poor. Providing a job requiring people skills to a known member of staff that does not have them simply because they have been at the company the longest makes for a poorly managed environment. Progression can be slow. Morale constantly swinging from 'OK' to Awful based on one person's mood. Reports to senior management of issues fall on deaf ears. HR unhelpful and in some cases, refuses to perform role. If face doesn't fit that day, you could be next target. Pay is inconsistent and although shouldn't be discussed, often is and is a cause for friction. Staff feel unable to challenge their wages due to secrecy and not wanting to 'out' their colleagues for discussing.

Pros

- Performance evaluation that will not need your involvement in 1 to 1 review which will save your time. - Will be blame frequently. A good training ground to learn to help others to take the responsibilities. - Able to learn the skill and the way to magnify small problems into very big and serious problems. - Able to learn the skill to push responsibilities to subordinates and could be useful for my future career later. - Able to learn the way to fully utilise and maximise our power in superior position to know how to create truth that wasn't truth, will be useful in future career.

Cons

- Dictatorship both internal and external. Make sure able to accept North Korea culture first. - Be ready to receive wrong supervision and confusion from superiors.
