Pros

Publix provides associates with great compensation, they promote from within always! At the end of the year Publix gives you stock based on what you make each year. The percent changes but usually about 8% of what you make will be invested in publix stock at not cost. They have all kinds of different job types something for everyone.

Cons

You always have to work around the holidays, no vacations. At times you will miss things with family on the weekends since you'll be working. It's very hard to get fired or demoted at publix unless you steal or do something really immoral. You will end up working with people who could care less.

Very supportive management. They want you not only to succeed but to make a career of Publix weather in the stores or corporate.

Cons

Publix is a career not a job regaurdless of possition. They expect the job to be your main priority and family life can sometimes take a back seat.

Pros

-You don't do much. -You get to know frequent customers and sometimes they give you things...like candy. (strange, yes. But true) -the computer system has made it easier, you do not have to memorize produce codes anymore -fellow employees are pretty friendly.

Cons

-cashiers get dirt pay. -no tips, the baggers (who technically aren't supposed to get tips) will get them (almost 100 per day if you choose your customers correctly). -you will get yelled at if you scan too many coupons. -
