Pros

PwC is a great place to get experience and a jumping off point for many good careers. The name looks great on a resume, and the longer you stay, the more valuable the experience is in terms of salary and responsibility outside public accounting. Different groups do very different work, which makes it easier to find work that suits you. You work with a bunch of young professionals, so the group dynamic is generally fun. There are good opportunities for travel and relocation if you are interested, although you generally have to be around for a few years before many opportunities open up.

Cons

Long hours at times. Mediocre pay for at least the first few years. Much of the work can be tedious, and it can be hard to stay motivated. As with any large company, some supervisors are better than others, and many people are promoted without much in the way of people skills, which make them hard to work with. In larger offices, new staff can get lost in the shuffle.

Pros

Prestige, respect, and ease of finding other employment. I had 20-30 offers the week I posted my resume. It's a tough place to work for, but it pays off.

Cons

PricewaterhouseCoopers claims it favors "work/life balance" but what they really promote is "work/work balance". Being able to work from home is not work/life balance. Also, it is very difficult to take vacation. Also, regardless of what they tell you, other Big 4 firms and most regional firms pay significantly higher than PwC. However, the longer you're with PwC...the more you can command later on. It is very much a double-edged sword.
