Pros
The compensation is decent and extra effort is rewarded with bonuses. The training is excellent and there are many off-site training sessions held at resorts where you get to stay the week and network. The reputation of the firm will open doors in the future if you can hang on a few years and make manager or above.
Cons
There is very little work-life balance and you have to be ready to set aside your personal time for 4-5 months during tax season. Turnover of staff is high so you are always short staffed or spending time training new employees. Actually making Partner is like winning the lottery and almost no shot for all those that think they are qualified. Morale of my group is low and management doesn't seem to notice or they don't care. Promotion criteria do not exist and its hard to stand out and make career moves in a large firm.
