Pros

Good reputation and highly regarded. A lot of talents within the network. Fantastic support from management. Lot of resources to keep you informed of what is happening outside your franchise.

Cons

Career movement depends on who you are working with. They think they own their clients. Motto "Client First" is a lie.

Pros

match 401k up to 6% but it takes 5 years to become fully vested which no one makes it to, used to be the pay

Cons

RBC paid extremely well when i started in '07 relative to other banks. Then the bottom fell out in '08. During this, a Retail President position was created and a Wachovia exec came on board. Since then virtually all of the branch managers and regional managers have been replaced with his old buddies from Wachovia. The office politics is ridiculous. The goals are ridiculous relative to market share which allowed them to get rid of all of the old "overpaid" employees and replace them with these Wachovia folks. Morale is so low it's amazing anything gets done. The new model is a copy of the cut throat tactics employed at Wachovia during its "hay day". The most stressful environment I have ever had the displeasure of being in. DON'T WORK THERE!!!!!

Pros

Take their experience/ training and get out for a better salary job. Their salaries are well below the market average and the company is always looking to squeeze every penny out of the employees. But after surviving their culture you can survive anywhere.

Cons

Very low salaries. Probably the lowest in the market. It seems that everyone is out to get you rather than to support you to achieve your objectives.
