Pros

Given the lack of meaningful technical projects and low expectations by management, the salary is actually quite descent for a laid back 9 to 5 job. So in case you are just looking for an easy job with a descent salary which has something to do with “IT”, Reply might be an option.

Cons

Reply itself is just a holding company which centrally handles administrative work for its dozens of Reply subsidiaries (e.g. Finance and HR). Most of the employees are in fact working for one of the subsidiaries. Communication between the subsidiaries is practically not existent, even though they advertise the opposite. In fact, subsidiaries are actively working against each other to get a project, or even try to “steal” a project from another subsidiary. If you are not just sitting on the bench right from the start (which is a realistic option), the projects can hardly be described as some kind of meaningful consulting or engineering project. To a large extent, Reply’s strategy is to offer dumping prices, basically forcing companies to choose Reply over other firms just for financial reasons. So, consequently, most of the projects are just cheap outsourcing projects - a.k.a body leasing projects - requiring one to work on mundane tasks for which the customer did not want to burn their own in-house employees. Most of the managers are lacking experience and skills for a management role. Reason being, most of the managers joined Reply right after university and then just climbed the ladder, which mostly means one just has to stay with the company for a pre-defined number of years. Almost none of the managers gained relevant practical experience outside of Reply.
