Great peers, but poor leadership made it tough

Pros

I had the chance to work with some truly great colleagues. There was a strong sense of team spirit among peers. • Cross-functional collaboration was a highlight—especially with the sales teams, who were supportive, motivated, and fun to work with. • The company’s international setup allowed for exposure to different markets and ways of working. That was valuable experience.

Cons

Senior marketing leadership, particularly at the top, created a difficult and often hostile work environment. • Feedback and concerns raised by the team were not taken seriously. In some cases, speaking up had negative consequences. • Leadership behavior in meetings was frequently rude and unprofessional. At times, it crossed the line into bullying. • There was little psychological safety. People didn’t feel respected or heard. • Eventually, many roles were phased out. The process lacked transparency and sensitivity.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're truly glad to hear that you had such positive interactions with your peers and cross-functional teams. A strong team spirit and the ability to learn from different markets and colleagues across the organization are essential parts of what we aim to create at Riverty. At the same time, we take your concerns about leadership behavior very seriously. Everyone deserves a respectful, safe, and professional environment—especially when it comes to giving feedback and raising concerns. Psychological safety is a key focus for us, and hearing that this was not your experience is something we deeply regret. We are continuously working to improve leadership accountability, transparency, and respectful communication. We also want to make it clear that any form of bullying or retaliation is not tolerated at Riverty, and we strongly encourage employees to speak up—either directly or through our internal channels—when they experience or witness behavior that goes against our values. Thank you again for your openness and for contributing to our ongoing development. We wish you all the best in your next chapter. Warm regards, Martin
