Pros

The people who make it worthwhile to come to work.

Cons

The culture has changed dramatically since going public. Corp. downsizing in the midst of a transition period = job instability. It's such a shame to see many senior, talented people leave for companies down the street.

Pros

SAIC has many job openings and opportunities that can be hard to find in smaller companies. They will make a competitive offer get you into the company. Good people to work for, generally interested in seeing the customer gets the most. The offer nickle and dime training courses.

Cons

They have lost their original purpose... to work on behalf of the client. As a publicly traded company, its about the dollar now. Once they give you the nice salary to get into the company, then they heard you into the middle "satisfactory" or "outstanding" (3,4) levels on the performance scale, and then give you an increase just above the rate of inflation. The good people who work hard for the client are a dying breed in the company, and are slowly leaving the ranks. The don't offer serious professional development courses that you can use in your career... and don't bother asking for help with outside courses... you'll get the run around... just make use of the tuition reimbursement and find an accredited program.

Pros

Lots of diversity (new graduates working beside career employees) and lots of opportunity for continued education (seminars, workshops, classes, tuition).

Cons

There are a lot of career employees without vision or drive who like to gossip about being required to actually produce for their pay. However, I have found the compensation to be above the norm for the area and my coworkers, managers, HR, and senior management to be very supportive, involved and fair.
