Pros

SAP is a great place to grow as an engineer. You get to work on large-scale, real enterprise systems used by major customers around the world, which is both challenging and rewarding. The engineering standards are high, and there’s strong emphasis on code quality, security, and reliability. Work–life balance is generally very good, with flexibility around working hours and remote work. The people are supportive, professional, and collaborative, and there’s a strong culture of knowledge sharing. There are many opportunities to learn new technologies, move between teams, and build a long-term career within the company. Benefits are solid and management usually encourages personal development and training.

Cons

Because SAP is a big organization, processes can be slow and sometimes overly bureaucratic. Decision-making may involve many stakeholders, which can delay implementation and reduce agility. Innovation exists, but it can take time for new ideas to move from concept to production. Some legacy systems and technical debt are still part of daily work in certain teams. Career progression can sometimes feel slower compared to startups, and promotions may depend more on organizational timing than purely on performance.
