Upward mobility is severely limited for females. Management in some divisions is 100% male and do not care about the careers of women they manage.
Utilization targets are really important yet the Consultant has very little control over this. If you are on a bad team or have a bad manager you will have a lot of bench time. Any attempts to move to other departments to increase your utilization will be denied, thus stagnating your career and salary.
Compensation is no longer competitive the longer you stay with the company
The longer you stay the less management cares about you....hiring new employees is top priority. However, new employees will not be trained properly so they quickly turnover.
Very little diversity despite the propaganda campaigns stating otherwise. Diversity in SAP speak simply means hiring more men of various age ranges.
Nepotism is the key to having a great career....not talent
Management is notoriously ineffective and turnover is high. If you are unfortunate to have a bad manager (and many are) just resign to the fact that this is a job and not a career for you. You must have an advocate to have a career here.
