Pros

Some pros: - Decent pay - Summer Hours - Week off between Christmas and New Year's - Profit Sharing (but also a con...)

Cons

Where to begin! - Outdated company policies (e.g. dress code, work from home) leaves the organization unable to recruit and retain top talent. - Company is slow to adopt new technology that is standard within other companies (be prepared to step into an organization that is 10-years behind). - Constant leadership changes leaves the "do-ers" unsure of priorities or goals. - People are being promoted into leadership roles that they are not qualified for - creating low morale on teams. - Lack of leadership/management development. - I've seen/heard management saying very rude/inappropriate comments to coworkers and leader went unpunished and even promoted! - Profit sharing is a pro, but no one tells you when you're being onboarded that you get a token your first year, which is basically like $50.

Pros

Had a history of great people and innovation. Benefits are decent and the JMBA is really nice. Has a lot of well established brands. Private company even though they are stripping the company of all costs as if it will be sold soon.

Cons

Lots of big goals with inconsistency in how to execute and prioritize. 5 year strategy guaranteed to fail. Innovation is dead at that company. They don’t invent any new formulas, products, or marketing besides line extensions or fragrance changes. The leading edge of the creative, charismatic, and ambitious people have already moved on. Climbing the ladder has little to do with merit but who you have as an advocate to drive your career. Basically a bunch of middle to upper management trying to take care of each other. Network hard perception is everything. Marketing is weak and a revolving door. HR is either generally incompetent or does next to nothing it’s hard to tell. Tons of processes, reviews, gates and everyone’s opinions given on every project wrapped up into a swell process. You can’t manufacture good product development it requires technical expertise and experience. Lastly Racine as a location is about as desirable as a cold shower.

Pros

maybe ok to start the first 18months of a career with some learning opportunities some managers competent

Cons

I'll be handing in my notice soon as i'm interviewing externally extensively and i've been increasingly frustrated with the ways of working, policies, and career progression at SCJ Frimley. Management at both a local, regional and global level need to seriously address the mass exodus thats happening. - Pay is significantly below the market rate, the last 6 months associates are leaving for offers with 20-30% pay increases - Policies are stuck decades behind, especially with WFH, this is not the market trend - Favouritism and an old boys lifers club is prevalent - 'Family' mantra is pushed to excuse all types of behaviour, especially the misogynistic 'banter' that prevails. - Leadership team seems completely unaware of how our competitors, or even our customers and partners do things. - HR are lovely but lack the experience outside of SCJ or with industry leaders to be able to drive best in class policies, often feels they are out of their depth. - I hope management will see this and take a good honest look in the mirror and ask themselves are we an employer of choice? The benefits and policies touted are scraping the bottom of the barrel benefits, our competitors offer this and much more.
