Pros

Smart people; good benefits; work/life balance; global opportunities

Cons

Lots of organizational change, including lay-offs and facility closures over past few years; French ownership can lead to high level of bureaucracy; too much unproductive activity to make sure local and global management are informed; matrix organization structure

Pros

Paid time off, ability to work from home, overall benefits are great

Cons

Culture. Most decision making done in France often by mid-management leaders that are inexperienced and or do not understand site manufacturing operations. In return, there is much micromanaging and immense amount of reporting requirements. Processes change often, are confusing and done so without any communication, input or proper roll out. Those that do not push back and challenge succeed. This hinders innovation, employee engagement and encourages bureaucracy. Salary increases beyond 2% are very rare. I recently had a significant “pay” grade increase and role promotion without any promise for a pay increase. I’ve spoken to other females within Sanofi and this seems to be the norm.

Pros

People honestly want to do a good job. They are a friendly, well educated, and very diverse population. Salary and benefits are above average.

Cons

Don't be fooled by the salary. Bonuses are well below target every year. LTI is only for a preferential inner circle and not based performance or role. Senior management practices top down culture and does not support area leadership. The culture drives more work than is possible and it's punitive when not executed. 12 hour days are expected. Facilities are old, processes even older leading compliance struggles across the board. This is also evident in their global leadership. Site leadership has changed 8 times in 5 years (ops and Quality) leaving a fragmented strategic direction. Constructive dismissal is a common practice.
